Metro’s 10K Home Program recognizes the importance of a robust public engagement process, with outreach intended to integrate community insights and needs into the design and development of each site. In partnership with organizations and local stakeholders, Metro has developed a comprehensive community engagement approach, incorporating workshops, surveys, pop-up events and outreach to transit riders to foster transparency and ensure that housing plans align with local priorities.
Through meaningful engagement, the 10K Homes Program aims not only to deliver much-needed affordable housing but also to create vibrant, accessible communities that reflect the unique character of each area while providing residents with seamless access to transit. TRG has taken the lead in developing stakeholder relationships, managing community feedback, and coordinating interactive community meetings and pop-up events.
As the project moves forward, TRG has led transit intercepts for future housing sites near the 17th St/SMC Station, Fairview Heights, Pomona North Station. At these intercepts TRG handed out project flyers, fact sheets, and survey flyers explaining the Metro Joint Development program and ways to provide feedback. Additionally, TRG has participated in various pop-up events and community intercept for a larger and more diverse pool of community engagement.
TRG will continue to lead outreach efforts as the project moves forward through the developer selection process for each site.
