Silvia grew up in South Central Los Angeles and received her BA at California State University, Northridge, where she majored in Urban Studies and Planning with a concentration in Sustainable and Environmental Planning. She became an urban planner to support communities and families like her own, who live in disinvested communities and bear the brunt of health and economic burdens.

As an Assistant Project Manager, Silvia is responsible for coordinating community meetings and outreach events, development of collateral materials, and managing social media and extensive stakeholder databases.
